Hello!
I finally got around to get something finished I can share. And I also got to give Quill a try.
I have to admit that I have had quite some problems getting to terms with the premise/mechanisms of Quill, but why not give it a try anyway.
To make things easier for me, I picked Shadow and Ink. Starting the campaign, I first read the scenario and then picked the character as not every character fits every scenario well (for instance, the journalist does not really fit in well with the background story of scenario one in my opinion). So, I finally picked the historian.
During the session, I actually first picked the word from the ink pot, then decided whether I wanted to have flourish with it and then did the three checks in a row. Doing the penmanship check before actually writing the paragraph allowed me to decide whether to be careful or not with my writing for that paragraph.
I feel that the paragraphs turned out a bit short, but with the restraints put on the vocabulary, I didn’t know how to elaborate there freely.
As you can see, thanks to some good early paragraphs, I scored 9 points, enough to get 2 story points.
EDIT: I forgot to mention, in order to preserve the look of the letter, I put the technical details on the left-hand page and reserved the right-hand page for the actual letter, as you can see.

Nice, maybe I should give Quill a try sometime. Never got around to it but heard good things about it.

Hello!
Well, it is rather weird to play. There are a lot of restraints you have, especially the ink pot as it basically renders a lot of words taboo, which makes writing the letter rather difficult (at least if you want to write longer paragraphs).
The other aspect is that you can’t go in with a free form adventure but always need a specific task together with that aforementioned ink pot. So, you either need to prepare something beforehand or use something someone else has written.
I was lucky that they have Shadow and Ink with a Lovecraftian campaign as I find it easy to get into writing letters in that time and genre. Someone posted here also a link to a list of all available Quill material:
