Hey everyone, episode 5 of my Fallout game is now up! Now powered by GURPS. It turns out episode 5 isn’t the finale, but episode 6 /will/ be. Hope you all enjoy! 😀

We last left off with the party regrouping and checking in on each other. They are unable to get a word in before they begin to hear screaming and flames rising out of a few of the houses. Then a shot rings out from Town Hall. The party is left silent with anxiety and panic…

Sometimes I think I have too many games going on at once. I can’t believe how much time has passed since I last posted anything from this campaign.

This is just a quick catch-up between the last adventure and the next. The next adventure does build on the last two, but it is self-contained enough that you won’t need to go back and re-read all 50+ posts to know what’s going on.

Old Lone Wolf Posts- What to do?

I think this deserves some discussion as to what we would like to preserve. I personally don’t want to direct any kind of centralized effort. There is just way too much stuff to try and do that.

I personally think that members should take initiative to save the stuff that they’re interested in saving. Whether that is in a document somewhere (with a link to it in one of the forums) or a copy/paste into a new forum post is up to whomever.

I wouldn’t worry about duplicating effort too much since that would take too much coordination. An admin can always clean up duplicates later.

So, save what you love.

Hey everyone, I hope everyone has been doing well lately. I am just swinging by with an actual play of GURPS! This is based on some suggestions from the GURPS Discord channel that I asked for yesterday. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to play, but within 5 minutes put together something I could work with haha.

This is the second solo battle I’ve done in GURPS, and I thoroughly enjoyed and ever minute of it.

The last Fallout episode is going to come in GURPS! I have everything and everyone converted. I just am going to start writing it later today.

If this article is telling the truth, G+ will be dead in less than a year. This means that this group will need to migrate elsewhere (links to current alternatives in this post).

Fortunately, since I’m a solo rpg survivalist, alternatives are already in place where we can survive the coming apocalypse:

MeWe (156 members so far):

https://goo.gl/aaJ2pY

The MeWe group has virtually zero structure. If you like a more casual vibe and don’t mind chaos, this is your place.

Reddit (94 members so far):

https://goo.gl/rbcS2L

The Reddit group is a little less active but more organized. Expect deeper discussions to take place there.

Facebook group (68 members so far):

https://goo.gl/dfCEXC

Google group (57 members so far):

https://goo.gl/4BS6Y6

Discord chat server (40 members so far):

https://goo.gl/JTZtDg

Traditional BBS (26 members so far):

https://goo.gl/nRNQ1h

Which of these do you prefer?

I am partial to Google Groups, because it allows people to continue using their existing Google Account. As for the worst option, I think MeWe and Facebook are structured in such a way that they aren’t very conducive to focused discussion.

In the end, I think that the best way is for people to join whatever alternatives you like best and generate discussions there. Even groups with fewer but active members have great potential to be productive (and will have more signal to noise ratio).

You have the power to influence which group(s) become the new home for solo discussion!

CN: bodyhorror, snakes, obscure English folklore

I’ve been running some solo playtests of a new (endlessly derivative) system with some Cthulhu modules I’ve written, and here is a quick write-up of my latest!

Don Japer II was winding through country roads on his horse, Concorde, headed towards the nearby town of Blythburgh. His journey was horribly stopped when his horse’s foreleg broke, throwing Don from the saddle. The horse’s bone was jutting through its leg, pierced straight into the animal’s lung.

While distracted by the horror, Don didn’t realise the road was filling with a carpet of snakes. He spotted through a gap in the hedgerows a pub perhaps a mile or two across the fields, but couldn’t move fast enough to escape the road unscathed. Though he managed to avoid any direct wounds, his nerves were shot when he finally cut a swathe through the serpents with his axe.

The walk over fields was comfortable enough but utterly devoid of animal life. The next thing Don saw was an impeccably beautiful woman sat on a stile in the direction he wanted to head. She implored him not to go on, saying that the pub ahead was dangerous and that he should turn back, but he muscled on regardless.

The next field had been recently furrowed, and Don stopped to notice the strange fairy rings — though what he thought were mushrooms turned out to be a ring of carefully planted molars. The next shock came when he discovered some severed heads grafted onto knots of weeds in the field ahead of him — but this was too much to bear.

Don loses control of himself here and comes to further into the field clutching one of the heads as if it were a weapon. From behind him, he sees a reptilian humanoid sprinting his way, but manages to flee in time, though when he runs into a vast coiling tongue made of long grass and lacerated skin, again he blacks out.

Don comes to again in the arms of the serpent-person, conscious as it sinks its fangs into his shoulder and he passes out from the pain.

Athassanya has Don’s heart for dinner (and to power her forthcoming ritual).

You know when you have a really sweet lego board game that you want to show off under the guise of a #SGAM2018 entry? Yeah, that’s totally not what this is.

Appleologies in advance for the god-awful lighting and camera, ’tis the best that my munny can bi. Also, I have little to no clue what #SGAM is, so this is a shot in the dark. Emma Drake intensifies
