HEXMAP DIRECTION: 1 = northwest, 2 = northeast, 3 = east, 4 = southeast, 5 = southwest, 6 = west (can be chosen if there’s a clue or idea, or it can be rolled at random using 1d6).
– This gameplay felt more serious as compared to the previous one. There’s combat, wilderness exploration, and even a trap!
After creating my set of Xena: Warrior Princess characters using #Bivius, I’ve finally got the chance of playing!
This first adventure follows the Bivius’ sandbox mode, focusing on urban adventures. The results have been fun, and silly. Just like in the series!
What I’ve liked: How easy things go, the amount of detail that results from playing, the system’s flexibility
What I’ve loved: the simplicity of the rules, the sidequest system, the fact that all options that are not chosen may very well be used in later adventures!
The author of the recent DM-less D&D 5e adventures (The Death Knights Squire, Tyrant of Zhentil Keep, Citadel of the Raven and the Saviour of Sharn) has just released this. I just got it and it seems like an amazing resource. It’s on dmsguild now: https://www.dmsguild.com/m/product/252355
Trying out Journey RPG with a mix of BOLD, Miso, Cartomancy RPG, and Mythic to back it up. Set in the Ilshara campaign world by John Wright. And trying something new for actual play presentation.
There’s a long history of D&D and Outdoor Survival (Avalon Hill). In this vlog post I dust off a d&d light (Castle Ravenloft) and send the characters out into Outdoor Survival with some basic gear including the Player’s Handbook 5th edition. A good time was had by all, except maybe the mimic.
Thanks to lino pang and #Bivius, I’ve decided to get started and bring my favorite series of all time to the realm of Solo RPG.
#Xena: Warrior Princess, Bivius edition! I know there’s an official RPG of the series from early 2000’s (the Hercules and Xena RPG), but I want something not that elaborate or complex.
First things first, I’m going to get started with my main cast of characters, namely: Xena (main), Gabrielle (sidekick), and Callisto (nemesis). I will be controlling Xena and Gabrielle throughout the adventure. Callisto will be there to cause trouble, and hopefully, my heroines will encounter her eventually.
Instead of choosing stats at random, I’ve decided to adapt skills, data, and equipment from those the characters have in the actual show. I’m thinking about the early seasons of XWP, so Xena’s skills are not overpowered.
Finally had some time to sit down and type this up from my notes I posted a couple weeks back. I hope someone finds it useful.

I believe this would work for a traditional GM role as well, but I’m coming from a solo player perspective: using the Tarot to generate a story based on conflict.
