As today is the last day of Solo Gaming Appreciation Month for this year, I wanted to remind everyone Zach’s Bestiary is still accepting entries. So far, we have 17 that I can count, and it would be great to get that up to 20!

You can enter your NPCs at this link:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmJBA0YfBbOQhGsAHGGO5R3W4_m5ibcECIryCOrgChr7hC8w/viewform

You can also see what’s already there (which is pretty cool) using this other link:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdmJBA0YfBbOQhGsAHGGO5R3W4_m5ibcECIryCOrgChr7hC8w/viewanalytics

You can get UNE as PWYW here: http://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/134163/UNE-The-Universal-NPC-Emulator-rev

But, if you don’t want to go through that right now, you can access my PDF copy at this link as a convenience, so you can roll those NPCs: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_7MzENQrZSxQWlNdjAyMFdNWXM/view?usp=sharing

Or this automated UNE tool by Todd Zircher: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11Aosci5JNhersXOUHpYieN7K4LhqXntwb2DmTARg52c/edit?usp=sharing

You should still download it at DriveThru in the future, because it’s awesome.

Thanks!

Got a start on one of the Ironsworn games I wanted to. For this one I’m using a post-apocalypse Earth setting that basically mimics the basic setting conceits of Ironsworn, though interpreted through a different lens.

I had intended for the first episode to carry the Wanderer from Iron Vow to first milestone, but a string of spectacularly bad rolls ended up burning the local bar down instead and leaves our hero no closer to the goal of finding the macguffin that will restore pure water to the people of his tribe.

I’ve recently been using my downtime in the evenings for some solo Mythras gaming in a grim fantasy world. One thing I wonder from everyone here is, how do you play out unraveling conspiracies and court intrigue? Since there is no GM to really make the conspiracy, it’s difficult to piece together the rolls of the dice or tarot cards and what not. How do people do this?

I think these warbands are ready to be put aside for a time. The battle was fun, but the ending was a bit of a let down. Tundra (blue) had a clever idea, if he put explosive runes on all the loot stashes then the opposition would have a hell of time trying to carry them off. He hadn’t anticipated that Azrael might just roam the board slinging fireballs with abandon.

In the end, no loot was carried off. Both Tundra and his apprentice were slain on the backs of Fireballs and incredible dice rolls. This had the feeling of a finale. Azrael and his band decided they were tired of the back and forth, this was less a fight and more of a statement. The fire mage wanted all treasure hunters to know that this was his territory, tresspssers would face dire repercussions.

The rune casters at least are retired form the board. I may build a new band to face the Fire Mages, or I might start up a new rivalry. Frostgrave is a big place, Azrael only staked his claim to a small portion, which means there are many other places left to explore.

Saw that Index Card RPG (ICRPG) has been mentioned here a few times and noticed it is on sale now for $2.99 at Drive Thru RPG.

I bought it a while back for group play, but having found this group and having it, I may just give it a whirl solo.
