This being a continuation of my solo Pits & Perils game. Day 19 Just outside the Caves of Chaos. Arden and Thane cut some saplings to make a litter to carry the body of Alan. Morale is low even for the PCs. Arden is more worried about pursuing orcs than…
In my solo Vampire game, Terry finally gets out of the quarry and starts unraveling what is going on. But it’s going to be a lot of pain, and a lot of blood, before he gets any answers.
Mills gets to work sending his drones deep into the Rift, which swallowed up his love and a small team of researchers. He is distraught but safe, in the bowels of the underwater base Argos II. Or so he thinks. Unfortunately, when one’s drone stares into the abyss, the abyss can see through our pithy technology and into our fragile souls.
This being a continuation of my solo Pits & Perils game. Day 18 At the Keep Martin buys some healing herbs, 1 bunch, from the trader. He makes note to search for herbs in the forest next time. Cost is 5 sp for the bunch. Thane buys a flask of brandy (for…

i know that some of you are familiar with the Barbarian Prince solo game (i’m not – i’ve only heard about it via this group). A few days ago i rather accidentally stumbled across a modern variant called Barbarian Vince…
Vince is a print-and-play card game where each card contains story paragraphs. Superficially it looks a lot like Barbarian Prince, but i can’t say if they share any gameplay resemblance.
i’m not sure whether the files in the BGG area or those which can be downloaded via the creator’s page, a link to which is buried several levels deep via the forum (which has but a single post which directs the user to an old post in a BGG boardgame design forum), are newer:
in terms of timestamps, the BGG files are newer (within the past month), but the choice of pocketmod format makes it more difficult to read, so i went with the copy from the creator’s site (even though it might be much older). (Edit: a new comment from the creator says that the BGG/pocketmod version is “essentially the same ruleset, just reworded and rearranged a bit for clarity.”)
Anyway… if you can wade through the links and various versions (creator’s site vs BGG), you might find a decent solo game there. i haven’t yet printed it out, so i can’t comment much on it except to say that the “Geek Gamers” channel on youtube made a mention of it in her top 5 (or was it 10?) favorite solo games.
More prosey Cthulhu Dark horror. Mills finds himself looking into what happened to his fiancee’s sub, instead of going directly to work piloting his undersea ROVs. Can two NPCs talking be interesting to one PC? Well, in the case of solo play, yeah that’s actually alright. Or allowed.
